Pendulum GLP-1 Pro Probiotic is a live multi-strain formula that naturally increases GLP-1, an “un-hunger” hormone that sends a message to your brain that you’re full. Your body already makes this hormone, but now you’ve got the power to boost it to help curb your cravings and appetite.

GLP-1 (short for glucagon-like peptide 1) is a natural hormone produced in your gut in response to eating. As GLP-1 is produced, it tells your pancreas to release insulin, which helps your body use the sugar from food for energy, effectively lowering your blood sugar. In addition, as GLP-1 is produced, it sends a message to your brain that you’re full, reducing your appetite and your cravings. GLP-1 Probiotic is formulated with powerful bacteria strains that help produce GLP-1 naturally.

GLP-1 Probiotic: What’s in It?

Akkermanisa Muciniphila is a type of beneficial bacteria that comprises up to 4% of the gut microbiome in healthy people. GLP-1 Probiotic is formulated with Akkermansia because it secretes a protein called “Akkermansia muciniphila-derived extracellular vesicls” (Akk-ExeVs). These extracellular vesicles contain certain molecules that signal the cells in the gut to produce more GLP-1.

Clostridium Butyricum is another type of beneficial bacteria found in the human gut that plays a role in producing a short-chain fatty called butyrate. Butyrate is associated with a spectrum of health benefits including healthy blood sugar response, gut permeability, and immune function. When butyrate is present in the gut due to the activity of bacteria like Clostridium butyricum, it interacts with the intestinal cells to signal the release of more GLP-1.

Bifidobacterium Infantis is yet another type f beneficial bacteria found in the gut, helping with digestion, nutrient absorption, the immune system, and gut barrier function. When Bifidobacterium infantis is present and thriving in the gut microbiome, it creates an environment that is conducive to the growth of Akkermansia and Butyricum, two strains that help produce GLP-1. In promoting a balanced ecosystem, Bifidobacterium infantis helps with the production of GLP-1.
